The Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization's (CAMPO) next meeting is expected to take place on Wednesday, Oct. 12 beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the Robert 'Bob' Crowell Board Room in the Carson City Community Center, located at 851 E. William Street.

League to Save Lake Tahoe Press Release
LAKE TAHOE, CA — Lake Tahoe is famous for its blueness. The growth and spread of algae is one reason blue lakes around the world can go green in the summer.
Algae forms the base of many food webs, and most algae in Lake Tahoe, though sometimes unattractive, does not pose a health risk to people or animals that enjoy the Lake.
Harmful algal blooms (HABs) are a different story.

26-year-old Reid Jensen Williamson was arrested on DUI causing death and hit and run causing death after allegedly fleeing the scene after striking a pedestrian Thursday evening.
The crash took place just after 5 p.m. at S. Stewart and Little Lane, and Williamson was detained at Little Lane and Parkland Avenue just before 6 p.m.

Carson City Host Lions Club
The annual "White Cane Days" hosted by the Carson City Host Lions Club will be held Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9. Lions will be available at the North Carson Street Save Mart from 10 to 4 each day to bring awareness to the public of the sight preservation programs the Lions support, and to raise funds as part of the annual White Cane Days.

UPDATE 6:25 p.m.: According to the sheriff, it is now known that the victim suffered multiple broken bones and internal damage and is in a serious condition at Renown.
